GoddessLuna's HATE RANT!!!!!!!

Divo Lawrence Washington

I am tired of turning around and seeing hate because of misconceptions or misunderstandings.  Why are people so angry and quick to jump to conclusions without opening their eyes to what is before them.  It is because people take things personally.  If one person has a belief system that is tailored to what they want out of life. What business is it of yours? Especially if what they want is not out of the same pool? Why be threatened by something or someone that has nothing to do with your lifestyle? We all have the right to be whatever we want and do whatever we wish(as long as it is legal).  Which includes our beliefs.  My beliefs are in no way a reflection of the entire world or do I believe that everyone should subscribe to my beliefs. When I express what it is that I desire it does not negate other people's expressions of their desires.  I am noticing an aggressive view in people who perceive themselves to be open minded.  I once was one of those people.  Where we force our "liberal" views on EVERYBODY, not realizing everybody does not feel the same way.  When these views are forced, they are not liberal they are near psychotic.  People have the right to have opinions and ideals.  My ideals make it possible for me to navigate MY world.  Of course some ideals are dangerous or plain ridiculous. Such as violence or hate. We are all adults who understand and can recognize reasonable ideals.

Are we headed for this?

It is reasonable for me to not date a man who is unemployed on his mothers couch without aspirations.  However does that mean I will never date a man who happens to be unemployed at the time we meet? It depends. Is he between jobs/careers, what are his aspirations? He could be on his mother's couch because his company folded... and he exhausted his funds trying to save his life's dream. There are always exceptions. Thats why I get to know people on an individual basis.  There are also signs that someone is not worth getting to know.  If I went on a date with a guy.. Lets say we are bowling on our date... he bends over as he throws his bowling ball and he reveals he is wearing a red thong.  Should I be alarmed? Is that normal? Would I not be "liberal" because I don't want a second date.  Am I wrong to not overlook the red thong? Are we living in a world where people expect us to except every and anything.  Can I not have standards?  I am not sure what a man wearing a red thong can indicate however I know it is not going to work for ME.  It may work for plenty of other people.  It does not mean I hate red thongs or that I hate men.  I just don't like men in red thongs. I do see red thongs as something feminine. I like my man to be what we all can identify as masculine.  Does that make me Hitler, anti gay or anti feminist?  Is it right for us to stop identifying what we perceive as being masculine or feminine.  After all I cannot change who I am. I am black and female. or is it that I don't want to change.  Micheal Jackson bleached his skin beyond white and Chasity Bono is now Chaz with a full beard.

Chastiy....uh Chaz has switched beats

Are we bad people because we may not agree with these radical changes?  I am a fan of MJs and I have no problem with Chaz.. if it were one of my children I would honestly be perplexed.  I would want them to love being what the creator created them as.  I would want them to not be preoccupied with the way the world perceives them aesthetically.  It would be great if they would focus on their integrity and intelligence.  My wishes for my future children has nothing to do with whether or not I would be supportive if they wanted to make a change that drastic.  Neither does it indicate that I am not supportive of people who have made the choice to change their sex or skin color.  In the end I prefer people to do what makes them happy without causing detriment to themselves or others around them.  Again as adults we should be able to identify what is necessary and what is a reflection of a serious psychosis.  Not all people changing their sexes are sane and there are people who honestly feel deep within that they are the wrong sex.   It may well be a defect mentally or physically.  However  Choosing to elect to have your genitals removed surgically is pretty extreme.  That is a fact that cannot be ignored however it is that person's right. Also they should not be judged in a way that can bring them harm.  But we can't pretend that it is normal.  Not normal does not equate BAD.  It just simply means most people on planet earth do not do it.  Slavery in America at one point was "normal".  Because a lot of Americans at the time had slaves in no way means it was right... it was just normal.  "Normal" is constantly changing from generation to generation.  I am old school and traditional in the context of my culture.

WTF?????????

When I identify a man and choose to pick him by the way he dresses I am simply using my right of elimination.  Because it is 2011 does not mean natural selection has disappeared from our species.  We are living in a world where homosexuality is out in the open again (this is not the first time in history).  It is necessary through natural selection that I can identify initially who is available to me and who is not.  You cannot judge a book by its cover but you can get an idea of whether you want to go further.  Men who tend to have feminine tastes usually are homosexual.  NOT men who have feminine traits.. there is a DIFFERENCE.  If a man wants to wear female clothing (Because there is a such thing as women's clothing.. it is labeled as such EVERYWHERE) and still attract women, he would have a difficult time getting women to stop and speak to him.  NO WOMAN is going to ignore that he has a dress on and pass him the digits. IT IS NOT GOING TO HAPPEN, unless you are PRINCE in heels.

How U Doing???

Throughout the centuries dressing traditions have changed from men wearing robes which resemble dresses to women wearing pants.  Now with the modern flexibility of sex roles women and men can wear whatever they want.  Do men and women have specific roles.  I believe they do, specifically.  There is a reason why I can't lift over a certain amount of weight. It is because I have a womb. I would not want to damage my body doing things it was not designed for.  There is a reason a man does not bleed every month. It is because he does not give birth to babies.  It is unnecessary. A male and female are different for reasons.  Why is it an issue today to recognize that men and women are different.  We are equals not in what we can do but in a way that compliments our existence to one another.  We are suppose to create a balance.  If we were the same and did the same exact things we would tip the scale straight to our annihilation.  We do have roles.  How we define them is our prerogative and subject to our relationships.  I feel I have the right to dismiss a man who is over a certain age wearing dirty sneakers, a tee shirt, and filthy jeans to a formal event.  It is mostly like a reflection of the state of his life.  I would perceive him to be someone who does not take pride in himself.  A person with no self value is not going to value someone else.  I have lived long enough through trial and error to realize what you look like can determine who you are. Of course like everything else there ARE exceptions.

Welcome Back

Urban Haute is back after a long summer.  So much has happened in these few months. Earthquakes and Hurricanes. Cut off jean shorts and lace fronts. BasketBall Wives and True Blood.  Summer was Hot Hot Hot. We are relieved to have made it to the fall safe and intact. Officially it is not fall as of yet. However I am already witnessing military inspired boots with crop leather jackets sprinkled gently over NYC.  I have not retired my pastel maxi dressed as of yet. I am hanging on till the trees drop the sign. As the foliage hits the ground I will go back to the drawing board. Fall cleaning and shopping.  Excitement. Trench coats in the cleaners and shine for my boots. I am ready. We all should be ready because we are in for a fierce winter. Ladies and Gentlemen (Fat Joe) break out those minks because its going to be hella COOOLD. Welcome back UrbanHaute fashionistas.. Lets bundle and layer up with fun. <MUAH>

The Man Purse Game: Utilitarian Or Emasculating?**

SEXY??

Ladies, How do you feel about your man carrying a purse? Okay, maybe they are not considered purses, they can be referred to as 'Man Bags'. Is it okay for a man to bring a 'Man Bag' along on a date?  I once went on a date with a man who wore skinny jeans with a tight silk tee with a huge 'Man Bag'. I asked him while intoxicated towards the end of our date,(did not want to waste my liquid courage) Are you Gay? He laughed and assured me that he was not. I then asked why do you have that big man purse and what the hell is in it? He claimed that he had his gym clothes and sneakers from earlier in the bag. WTF?

Hey Now.. I am not completely against men carrying bags... I just do not like 'Man Bags'. There are some BAGS that get a pass. I understand men travel and need to carry on their things.  A lot of men like us balance their day and dates, straight from the office to taking us out at night. However I was always the type of girl who expected you to leave your S#!% in the car and just bring your wallet. I prefer a man who does not have as much baggage as I have.  I feel cute when a man asks me to hold his sunglasses case or hold on to his camera etc while we are out and about.  Simply put.. The Airport- PASS. Work Brief Case- PASS. Child Care- PASS. Andre Leon Tally- PASS. Anywhere Else- FAIL. A man wearing a huge purse is emasculating. Men should be gentlemen not girlie men.
